I remember visiting Auntie Pat in Vermont when I was a little tiny kid - and taking naps right in front of the stove while using the dog as a pillow. I remember some cursing going on as she tried to cook while stepping over me.

I remember learning the key phrase "and all that Happy Horse Sh__t!"

I also remember her famous raspberry cool whip cake and interminable shopping trips to St. J.

I also had the privilege of seeing Auntie

I also had the privilege of seeing Auntie Pat rendered speechless just one time - at Peter's wedding when asked a pointed question by her ex-husband's second wife. It was one of the funniest moments ever and definitely a rare moment, as Auntie Pat was never at a loss for words.

You always knew where you stood with Auntie Pat and you also knew where she should stood on any issue - even if you didn't want to know. She was a tough, but very compassionate lady and I will miss her.

I worked with Pat and Pam for several years at St. Joe's. I always enjoyed Pat's spunk and humor. She was one of a kind and really liked having fun. She was also a good nurse and took great care of her patients. I am sorry that I can't be there for her Memorial Gathering, but I will be there in thought.
